I would like to thank Eric Brandt and Wally Sidelko for organizing and running a fine 14 team ISC qualifier on the waterfront at Veterans Memorial Park this Memorial Day weekend.  There was a special tribute made to Mike Sidelko, father of Wally, a Viet Nam veteran who passed  away this past year. My condolences to Wally and  his family from myself and all the members of the International Softball Congress.  The ISC would like thank the  Bay City Parks and Recreation Department and all of the helpers this past weekend for immense help in running this fine tournament. The Blue Crew was a very experienced group of fine umpires that have worked several ISC local. as well many World Tournaments. There will be two divisions of seven teams each, with one team from each bracket playing a cross bracket game. After all bracket games are complete we will take 8 teams combined from the two brackets and seed them from 1 through 8. These teams will move on to a single elimination playoff bracket. This is the 4th year for this tourney and it has gotten better every year with teams from as far away as Toronto, Canada to Austin, Texas.  The ballpark is located on the shores of the Saginaw River and is within walking distance of the famous Bub Crawl on Midland St. with over 25 different bars and restaurants. For an extra bonus this year we have a beer tent on site.  We also would like to dedicate this year tourney to the memory of Mike Sidelko who sadly passed away this fall.  Mike was a big part of our tourney both as a sponsor and spectator watching his son (Wally), he will be sadly missed. HOTEL INFORMATION The following 15 teams have committed or have expressed interest (Updated February 28): Stockpack, Ohio St. Thomas Storm, Ont. Mickey's, Michigan Tiffanys, Michigan Hasting Blues, Michigan Duncan Outlaws, Indiana Shaw Chiropractic, Michigan Goshen Gators, Indiana Up-to-Date-Painting, Michigan Munger Firemen, Michigan Westerville Capitals, Ohio Barts, Michigan Cary Allstate, Michigan Smalltown Fastpitch, Michigan Thunder of Coldwater, Michigan The format will be bracket play guaranteeing three games with each 1 and 2 seed from each bracket moving on to a cross bracketing single elimination playoff.  First and second place trophies will be awarded as well as MVP Player and Pitcher. The first 12 teams to send in entry fee will be locked in with any teams after that will go on a reserve list until 4 more teams want in a which time we will add a fourth bracket.  Sorry for this, but due to past problem this is necessary. Tournament directors will be Eric Brandt and Wally Sidelko. Joe Squires will once again head up one of the best umpiring crews in the country.
