The Alvinston Indians defeated the Marshall Lightning 4-3 in the championship game on Sunday. Alvinston defeated Mickey's Sleds in the semifinals and the Lightning defeated Ashland Stockpack.

The field is set for this year's Pete Schwab Memorial Fastpitch tournament. The following 16 teams have committed to the tournament.

All teams will play 3 round robin games beginning on either Friday night or Saturday morning. In addition, teams will be seeded into one of the three playoff brackets.

Pete Schwab Memorial (Frankenmuth, MI) July 16-18, 2010Monday, February 15, 2010 I'd like to announce plans for the 2010 Pete Schwab Memorial Fastpitch tournament in Frankenmuth, MI. The tournament will be held on July 16-18th in Frankenmuth's beautiful Heritage park.
During last year's tournament, the Indians (Alvinston, ON) held off the Lightning (Marshall, MI) by a score of 1-0 in an exciting A bracket championship game. Meanwhile, the Twisters (Midland, MI) defeated Duncan Outlaws (Elkhart, IN) in the B championship finals and Gillies (Midland, MI) took home the C bracket championship.
This year's tournament will be formated as follows:
Competition Level: Intermediate / ASA A-B-C (basically, I don't expect any PRAWN pitchers) # of Teams: 16 Format: 4 game guarentee (3-game round robin with all teams being seeded into one of 3 playoff brackets) Playoffs: 8 team A bracket playoffs, 4 team B bracket playoffs, 4 team C bracket playoffs Prizes: Refreshments Schedule: all teams will play either 1 round robin game on Friday and 2 on Saturday ... or 3 games on Saturday all teams will play at least 1 playoff game on Sunday Tournament Director: David Lach UIC: Mike Clark (umpyclark@charter.net)
